Custom-built food trailers delivered to Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Durham and the rest of North Carolina. Every unit is designed to clear the plan review the state requires before construction. Financing available.
North Carolina has no such thing as a standalone mobile unit. Your trailer has to operate in conjunction with a permitted restaurant, food stand or commissary, and report there at least daily. That is the biggest difference from Georgia.
You submit plans for review before the unit is built, not after it is finished. The Environmental Health Department then inspects the unit itself. Building first and asking permission later is the most expensive mistake made in this state.
A pressurized potable water system with heating capability. The sewage holding tank has to be at least 15% larger than the potable water tank, with its outlet positioned lower than the clean water inlet.
Dedicated, with hot and cold water through a combination faucet, plus soap and towels. Your warewashing sink does not count toward it.
The county where your restaurant or commissary sits issues the permit. And you have to give a list of every county and location where the unit will operate to the issuing health department and to each of those other counties. Failing to do so can suspend your permit. The permit itself stays visible to the public at all times.
Requirements change. Confirm with your county environmental health department before you invest.
We build in Atlanta and deliver the finished trailer to North Carolina. We also deliver to Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia.
Because plan review here happens before construction, it pays to talk early: we design the unit with your county’s requirements on the table rather than correcting it afterward.
More than just a food trailer, we build the engine of your business. At Prime Star, we deliver expert craftsmanship that redefines how your brand stands out, cooks, and performs on the road.
